Non-profit accounting
Accounting for Canadian charities and non-profits.
Keep restricted funds apart, record gifts, issue official donation receipts and prepare statements your board and the CRA expect, all on the same books as your day-to-day accounting.
What you get
Everything a charity’s books need, on one set of books.
Each line says which plans include it, so you can see what you would be paying for before you start.
-
Funds and restrictions
Record each line against a fund. Restricted money keeps its own balance and its own column on the statements. On every plan.
-
ASNPO statements
Net-asset statements with fund columns, deferral-method recognition for restricted gifts and functional expense allocation. On every plan.
-
T3010 and T1044 worksheets
Worksheets prepared from your books. You or your accountant review them and file with the CRA. On every plan.
-
Donors and gifts
Donor records, gift entry, deposit batches for the Sunday count or the gala, pledges and campaigns. From Growth.
-
Official donation receipts
For registered charities. Serial-numbered, with an annual allowance that depends on the plan. From Growth.
-
Donor portal
Giving history, receipt downloads, donor-managed recurring gifts and a public giving page. Professional only.
-
Bank feeds and reconciliation
Connect your accounts and reconcile against the bank statement. On every plan.
-
Invoices, bills and card payments
Invoice sponsors and renters, pay vendors and take card payments. On every plan.
-
GST, HST, PST and QST
Sales tax tracked by province, for the organizations that collect or pay it. On every plan.
-
Your accountant in the same books
Invite your accountant through the client portal to review the year and prepare year-end. On every plan.
The non-profit toolkit
Three parts, and where each one starts.

Who it is for
Built around how Canadian charities actually work.
Registered charities
Track restricted and designated gifts, issue official donation receipts to your givers and prepare the T3010 worksheet from the same books. Receipting needs a plan that includes donors and gifts.
Non-profit organizations
Use fund accounting, ASNPO statements and the T1044 worksheet for an organization that is not a registered charity. Official receipts are for registered charities and other qualified donees only.
By kind of organization
Guides written for the people who keep the books.
Non-profit accounting

Talk to our teamDonor records and official donation receipts start on Non-Profit Growth and are included on the plans above it, with an annual allowance of 5,000 receipts on Growth. Non-Profit Starter keeps funds and statements but not donor receipting.
No. Fund accounting, restricted funds and ASNPO statements suit any Canadian non-profit. Official donation receipts, however, can only be issued by a registered charity or another qualified donee, so a non-profit organization that is not a registered charity would use the accounting without the receipting.
No. It prepares worksheets from your books so the figures are ready, and you or your accountant file the return with the CRA. Check the CRA’s current instructions for the return that applies to your organization before you file.
No. The non-profit plans are complete plans: bank feeds, invoices, bills, sales tax and reports, plus the non-profit modules that each plan includes.
The annual receipt allowance is a soft cap. Going past it does not stop you from issuing an eligible receipt, because a registered charity has a duty to receipt eligible gifts. It is a billing matter, so ask us about the current terms if you expect to pass it.
Yes. Awditify’s Simple view uses everyday words such as money in and money out, and your accountant can work in the same books in Accountant view. Team-member limits depend on the plan: Starter 2, Growth 10, Professional unlimited.
Yes. Every non-profit plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You can move your books over from another system; see the migration page for how.
