Honest terms, simply explained

Same scope only

Firm referrals count for firm registrations. Bookkeeping referrals count for bookkeeping registrations. No cross-family mixing.

Paid subscriptions only

Trials, unpaid accounts, frozen subscriptions, and fully refunded invoices do not count. Only active, currently paid subscribers qualify.

Proportional plan weighting

Lower-priced plans count proportionally. Ten $29/mo referrals can satisfy the same threshold as five $59/mo referrals.

Coverage is continuous

Referral coverage stays active automatically each billing cycle while your qualified referral credit stays at or above the threshold.

Loss triggers prorated billing

If your threshold is no longer met mid-period, prorated billing resumes from the exact date eligibility was lost — clearly notified in advance.

Cash payouts require a profile

Annual cash rewards require a completed payout profile, a user-submitted payout request, and accounting review before release.

No cap on referrals

Frequently asked questions

When does my referral start counting?
A referral counts once the person you referred has an active, paid subscription with a successful paid invoice for real money — not a trial, not a past-due account, not a refunded payment. The moment their first qualifying invoice is paid, your progress updates automatically.
What if a referral I counted cancels or goes past-due?
Your referral credit recalculates immediately. If you fall below the coverage threshold, referral coverage is revoked and you receive a prorated invoice from the exact date eligibility was lost. You'll receive a clear notification before or at the time of any charge.
Can I mix different plan tiers from my referrals?
Yes. Each referral's plan is rounded up to the next whole dollar and counted toward your threshold by value. Ten referrals on a $29/mo plan contribute the same credit as five referrals on a $59/mo plan — both reach the $300 threshold on a $59/mo Professional plan.
Do annual subscribers count differently than monthly?
For referral coverage eligibility, billing cycle does not matter — the eligibility weight is always based on the normalized monthly plan value. Annual cash payout accrual uses the actual eligible revenue collected on each invoice.
How do I access my annual cash reward?
Surplus referral rewards accrue in your referral dashboard. At year-end, you can submit a payout request. Payouts require a completed payout profile and accounting review, and have a $50 minimum threshold. Accrued amounts below $50 roll forward to the next year.
Can firms and bookkeeping subscribers share referral codes?
No. Firm referral codes are scoped to firm registrations only. Bookkeeping referral codes are scoped to bookkeeping registrations only. Using the wrong scope is detected at registration and shows a clear message to guide the person to the right plan family.
What happens if someone signs up but never pays?
They do not count. A referral is only a qualifying paid referral when there is a real paid invoice covering a paid billing period. Free trials alone never trigger referral credit.
Is there a limit to how many referrals I can make?
There is no cap on referrals. Every surplus referral beyond your coverage threshold adds to your annual cash reward accrual. The more paid referrals you bring in, the more you earn.
