This guide walks you through the Payroll Dashboard — your central hub for managing employee payroll, time tracking, and tax compliance in Awditify.

Getting to the Payroll Dashboard

  1. Open the client you want to work with from your dashboard.
  2. In the left sidebar, under the Bookkeeping section, click Payroll.

You will land on the Payroll Dashboard. This is your starting point for everything payroll-related.

The Payroll Dashboard Overview

Summary Cards

At the top of the page, four cards give you an instant snapshot of payroll activity for the current fiscal year:

  • Total Payroll — the total gross wages paid across all payroll runs year-to-date, plus the number of payroll runs processed so far.
  • Active Employees — the number of employees currently marked as Active, along with the total employee count.
  • Pending Approvals — the number of time entries that are still awaiting your review and approval.
  • Tax Liability — the total of all taxes withheld year-to-date (CPP, EI, federal tax, and provincial tax combined). This is the amount you owe to the CRA.

ℹ Info: All summary figures are based on the client's fiscal year. The date range automatically starts at the beginning of the fiscal year and ends on the current client date.

New Payroll Run Button

At the top right, click the blue New Payroll Run button to jump directly to the Payroll Runs page and start a new payroll batch. This is the fastest way to begin processing payroll.

Main Content Tabs

Below the summary cards, four tabs organize the most important information:

Payroll Runs Tab

Shows your five most recent payroll runs. Each run displays:

  • Pay date and status badge (Draft, Pending, Approved, or Completed).
  • Number of employees included and the pay frequency.
  • Net pay amount for that run.

Click any run to open its full detail page. If no runs exist yet, you will see a message: "No payroll runs yet. Create your first payroll run to get started."

At the bottom, click View All Payroll Runs to go to the full Payroll Runs list.

Employees Tab

Shows up to ten of your employees with:

  • Display name, employment type, and pay type (salary or hourly).
  • Pay rate (annual salary for salaried employees, hourly rate for hourly employees) and pay frequency.

Click any employee to go to the full employee list. The Add Employee button in the header takes you directly to the new employee form.

Time Entries Tab

Shows time entries that are awaiting your review. Each entry displays:

  • Employee name who submitted the time.
  • Date and entry type (Regular, Overtime, Vacation, Sick, Holiday, or Unpaid).
  • Hours worked.

Click the Review button next to any entry to go to the Time Entries page where you can approve or reject it. If there are no pending entries, you will see "No pending time entries to review."

Tax Forms Tab

Shows up to five of your most recent tax forms (T4s, T4As, etc.). Each form shows:

  • Form type and tax year.
  • Employee name the form belongs to.
  • Status — Filed (green), Ready (blue), Draft (gray), or other statuses.

Click Generate Year-End Forms to start creating tax forms for the current year, or click any form to go to the full Tax Forms page.
